Jake Isaacs

Jake Isaacs is a filmmaker with a masters in social work from Thousand Oaks, California. He studied Film and Psychology at The University of Southern California and graduated in 2010 with Honors in Multimedia. He then worked at DreamWorks Animation as the Art Coordinator for Rise of the Guardians, Producer for the behind-the-scenes documentary Rise of the Guardians: Creating An Epic, and Script/Editorial Coordinator for Kung Fu Panda 3

He performed stand-up comedy regularly at clubs including The Comedy Store, The Improv, The Ice House, UCB, Second City, and iOWest, and still hosts benefit shows for non-profits. He wrote for the 2016 CBS Diversity Showcase, where his sketches Seinfelons and Weed Wonka were featured in the LA Times. He served as a Co-Head Writer for the 2017 CBS Diversity Showcase.

He has produced several independent shorts, pilots, and documentaries and is now focusing that work on projects that align with his social work values. Credits include: Hypocrite (Producer/Editor), Good Help Is So Hard To Find (Director/Producer/Editor), The First Jewish Surfer (Writer/Actor/Editor), The Arrangement (Producer/Company) Work Buds (AD), Ze Juice Bar (Writer/Director/Producer), December 8th, 1941 (Writer/Producer).

His most recent project, THE COUNT, is currently going to film festivals. The Count is a documentary short film with an inside look at the yearly Homeless Count through the eyes of a leading homeless services organization in South Los Angeles, HOPICS.
